One of the focal points of your sharing is the return to the Heart and the integration of spirituality into daily life. From this point of view, how can we perform actions that are in line with our true feelings, even in the most practical areas of life? How do we reconcile being individuals on a spiritual journey with living in a society where personal and political choices have to be made?
We all often feel that our life does not seem to express, in its entirety, what we have learned on a spiritual level, showing an apparent distance between an absolute plane – where we may know that everything is one and that we are one Consciousness – and a relative plane, where another kind of rules seem to apply and where the duality of existence forces us to make choices and decisions that sometimes clash with our beliefs and ideals. In reality, we cannot transform and express what we feel is right until this becomes true on all levels of our being. This means not only on a mental level, but also on an emotional, energetic and physical level. Integrating the truth of our Heart into daily life is a journey of courage, sincerity and perseverance. When something becomes profoundly true not only in our mind but in our life, then all our actions will be the expression of it.
What we really are, behind the ego’s mask in which we seem to be separated from one another, is a one Consciousness. This Consciousness that we are manifests itself as the world we experience: just as in a night dream, everything we encounter is an expression of the Dreamer’s Consciousness. And we, deeply, are this Dreamer.
If you want to see your life change, what must be transformed is the consciousness you have of yourself, because it is this deeper level of our being that creates the world and not the apparent images we have built of ourselves. The ego does not create anything, it is in itself a created object.
The world is manifest Consciousness, whether we are aware of it or not: when you, Consciousness, do not know who you are, all your actions will show a sense of separation and suffering.
We should not be surprised to hear that Consciousness can be obscured by ignorance: think of a tree whose flowers have not yet all bloomed and you will quickly understand how, although spring has come, it is not necessarily manifested simultaneously in all parts of creation. If Consciousness in some parts is still ignorant of itself this will have an effect on the manifestation. Returning to the dream metaphor, the various dreamed characters will not behave according to their own will, but will reflect the consciousness of the dreamer. In this dream called life, we are “dreamt” by Consciousness, i.e. our actions, words, thoughts or emotions are nothing more than a single interconnected movement that represents in every moment the understanding or ignorance that Consciousness has of itself.
Wake up therefore to your being Consciousness. In doing so, everything that is still unconscious and imbued with separation will have the possibility to emerge, to be recognized and – on an ultimate level – transformed. As Consciousness, you have the possibility to manifest a new Dream, both in terms of individual life and in the whole scheme of manifestation.
So, if we want to see new actions that are consistent with the truth of our heart in all areas of our lives, what must change is our understanding of ourselves. Everything else will happen accordingly.
